This drum produces a very warm, round, resilient type of sound that lingers quite a bit. Its almost like the sound of a softwood like cedar. Made of wood that was recovered from a peat bog in New Zealand and is certified to be at least 35,000 years old. Better yet, the trees found in the bog were about 2,000 years old when they fell.
